International Industry-University-Research Co-operation Talk Successfully Held in Penang, Malaysia

On 17th April, ACEC, together with Suzhou City University and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), held a talk on international industry-academia-research cooperation in the meeting room of USM's Chancellory. The conference not only strengthened the communication and cooperation between China and Malaysia in the field of culture and education, but also injected new vitality into the promotion of the integration of industry-university-research in the countries along the Belt and Road.

At the beginning of the meeting, leaders of the three parties delivered important speeches. They emphasised the importance of international industry-university-research co-operation and expressed their expectations for future co-operation. In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Malaysia said that he welcomed the arrival of Suzhou City University and ACEC and looked forward to jointly promoting the deep integration of academic research and industrial development through this cooperation. Zhao Zhihong, President of Suzhou City University, also delivered an enthusiastic speech, highlighting the complementary advantages of China and Malaysia in the field of education and expressing his willingness to carry out more substantive cooperation projects with USM.

Subsequently, Suzhou City University - Universiti Sains Malaysia Global Study Center launching ceremony was held. With warm applause, the leaders of the three parties jointly unveiled the plaque for the project centre, marking a solid step forward in the industry-university-research cooperation between the two universities.

Immediately after the ceremony, Zhao Zhihong, President of Suzhou City University, gave a speech on visiting scholar. He elaborated on the importance of attracting talents from overseas to enhance the university's scientific research strength and promote the development of disciplines, and shared the experience and practice of SZCU in attracting outstanding talents from overseas. President Zhao's speech triggered a lively discussion among the participants, who expressed that they would actively learn from these experiences to promote the internationalisation process of the university.

Then, representatives from ACEC also took the stage to share their cooperation. They introduced ACEC's achievements and experiences in promoting cultural and educational cooperation in countries along the Belt and Road, and said that they would continue to play the role of a bridge and link to build a cooperation platform for more universities and enterprises.

After the meeting, the participants also visited the campus of Universiti Sains Malaysia and experienced the academic atmosphere and schooling characteristics of this renowned institution. Meanwhile, they also inspected the construction and cultural facilities of Penang City and were impressed by the beautiful scenery and rich culture of the city.

The success of this International Industry-University-Research Co-operation Talk not only strengthens the communication and co-operation between Chinese and Malaysian universities, but also lays a solid foundation for more substantial co-operation projects in the future. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parties, the cultural and educational cooperation between countries along the Belt and Road will usher in a better tomorrow.
