Official Launching Ceremony of CHINA-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center

The inauguration of the CHINA-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center coincides with the commencement of The South-East Asia Hainan-Hongkong Express Cable System (SEA-H2X) project.

YB Dr Haji Annuar Rapaee, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development stated that, SEA-H2X project is ready to service in 2024, linking Hong Kong, China and Sarawak, offering great growing demand for network bandwidth and high-speed connectivity in the China-ASEAN region, while also contributing to the development of a new network ecosystem for 5G evolution, boosting the global digital economy and creating new job opportunities.

中国-东盟大学创新联盟CAIH基金中心的成立，恰逢东南亚海南-香港高速电缆系统（SEA-H2X）项目的启动。

教育、创新和人才发展部副部长YB Dr Haji Annuar Rapaee表示，SEA-H2X项目将于2024年投入使用，连接中国香港和沙捞越，为中国-东盟地区提供巨大的网络带宽和高速连接需求，同时也为5G演进的新网络生态系统的发展做出贡献，推动全球数字经济发展，创造新的就业机会。

“The completion of the China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center will promote regional technological and industrial upgrading, and create high-quality employment opportunities through the simultaneous implementation of digital communication infrastructure development and talent training.”

“中国-东盟高校创新联盟CAIH基金中心的建成将促进区域技术和产业升级，并通过同步实施数字通信基础设施建设和人才培养，创造高质量的就业机会。”

Later, the deputy minister initiated the launching ceremony of the CHINA-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center in ACEC office, Kuching.

The launching ceremony of the CHINA-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center was also attended by distinguished guests, including Mr. Xing Weiping, Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Kuching, Associated Professor Dr. Abang Zainoren Abdurahman, Deputy Rector (Research and Industrial Linkages) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Majelin Sulon, Senior Principal Assistant Director of Education Ministry Sarawak, Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan, Director of Politeknik Kuching Sarawak, Mohamad Isham Fauzi, Chief Commercial Officer of Sarawak Skills, and others.

Mr. Tang Qiuping, General Secretary of GUET, and Mr. Yang Chengcheng, the Executive Director of ACEC pointed out that, CHINA-ASEAN Alliance of Universities Innovation of CAIH Foundation Center will bring in top academic and industry experts, as well as government and industry resources to provide internationally competitive and leading programmes for young students in Sarawak and the ASEAN region. The Centre will also provide Belt and Road Digital Economy scholarships in supporting local students to study abroad, internships, and employment in renowned international enterprises. Other benefits include organising short-term internships, exchanges, and academic upgrading programmes for local graduates and government bodies to visit China.

The establishment of new center is just perfectly in time. With the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), all participating countries offer new opportunities for cooperation to relaunch the economies of the Asia-Pacific region. ACEC adheres to the principles of promoting cultural education, by providing a cross-cultural exchange service and collaboration platform for the Alliance universities through cross-cultural industry-academia-research exchange, joint training of talents, sharing of scientific research information, and joint incubation of achievements under the normalisation of the epidemic. At the same time, China-ASEAN alliance resources will be gathered to carry out cross-cultural industry-academia-research cooperation in RCEP region.

随后，副部长在古晋ACEC办公室主持了中国-东盟大学创新联盟CAIH基金中心的启动仪式。

出席中国-东盟大学创新联盟CAIH基金中心启动仪式的嘉宾还包括中华人民共和国驻福冈古晋总领事邢卫平先生、UiTM（研究和工业联系）副校长副教授Abang Zainoren Abdurahman博士、砂拉越教育部高级首席助理主任Majelin Sulon、古晋理科学院董事Hikmatullah Hajid Ahmad Khan、沙捞越技能公司首席商务官Mohamad Isham Fauzi等。

桂林电子科技大学(GUET)秘书长唐秋平先生和ACEC执行会长杨程成先生指出，中国-东盟高校创新联盟CAIH基金中心将引进顶尖的学术和行业专家，以及政府和行业资源，为砂拉越和东盟地区的青年学生提供具有国际竞争力的领先课程。该中心还将提供 "一带一路 "数字经济奖学金，支持本地学生出国留学、实习，以及在国际知名企业就业。其他好处还包括为本地毕业生和政府机构组织短期实习、交流和学术提升计划，以访问中国。

新中心的建立恰逢其时。随着区域全面经济伙伴关系（RCEP）的实施，所有参与国为重启亚太地区的经济提供了新的合作机会。ACEC坚持促进文化教育的原则，通过跨文化的产学研交流、人才联合培养、科研信息共享、疫情常态化下的成果联合孵化，为联盟高校提供跨文化交流服务和合作平台。同时，聚集中国-东盟联盟资源，在RCEP地区开展跨文化产学研合作。
