Digital Health and Regional Development Theme Day

Health management begins with public awareness. With the booming development of digital technology, China-ASEAN cooperation in the field of digital health is gradually deepening and providing more regional cooperation opportunities from various perspectives.

China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities for Electronic Information Innovation of China ASEAN Information Harbour (CAIH) and Asia China Education & Cultural (ACEC) Association, integrating China-ASEAN regional governments, universities and enterprises, hosted the first ‘Digital Health and Regional Development Theme Day’ in Sabah, Malaysia’s top global tourism destination, by today.

This remarkable event was jointly organised by Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin Medical University, University Teknologi MARA, Huawei, Belt and Road cross-cultural industry-academia-research centre. 

‘Digital Health and Regional Development Theme Day’ aims to promote regional technological development and industrial upgrading through cross-cultural industry-academia-research cooperation in multiple fields, such as digital health, digital education, digital tourism and digital ecology. From this starting point, the participated parties will jointly build an international digital recreation base for China-ASEAN, and promote the common development of the region.

Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, Deputy Minister of Sabah, attended the event together with ACEC, and Huawei representatives. A conference was held to discuss topics such as the development of multiple fields, digital technology and others.

健康管理始于公众意识。随着数字技术的蓬勃发展，中国-东盟在数码健康领域的合作逐渐深入，从各个角度提供了更多的区域合作机会。

中国-东盟信息港大学电子信息创新联盟(CAIH)和亚洲一带一路文化教育合作促进会(ACEC)，整合中国-东盟区域政府、大学和企业，到今天在马来西亚全球顶级旅游目的地沙巴举办了首届 "数码健康与区域发展主题日"。

这一出色的活动由广西壮族自治区外事办公室、桂林医学院、玛拉工艺大学、华为、一带一路跨文化产学研中心联合举办。

数码健康与区域发展主题日 "旨在通过数码健康、数字教育、数字旅游、数字生态等多个领域的跨文化产学研合作，促进区域技术发展和产业升级。以此为起点，与会各方将共同打造中国-东盟国际数字娱乐基地，促进区域的共同发展。

沙巴副首长拿督佐津与ACEC、华为代表共同出席了此次活动。会议就多个领域的发展、数字技术等议题进行了讨论。

In recognition of ACEC's contribution to the dissemination of culture and education, Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam accepted the appointment as Honorary Chairman of ACEC.　

The highlights of the theme day included the official launching ceremony of China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities for Electronic Information Innovation of CAIH International Industry Academia Research centre.

Yang Chengcheng, Executive Director of ACEC, and Oliver Liu, Chancellor of Huawei ASEAN Academy Malaysia were joining the event happily.

Both the key universities had signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further explore new development models in related fields and strengthen academic research collaboration in the industry.

On the day, lecturers and students from both universities participated in cross-cultural exchange activities to promote mutual understanding through cultural experiences. The awarding of certificates to instructors of joint master’s and doctoral programmes between China and Malaysia, would be another climax. As can be seen, this event serves as a link between the Belt and Road countries and promote common regional development through international industry-academia-research cooperation.

‘Digital Health and Regional Development Theme Day’ is the fourth in a series of events initiated by ACEC. 

The full implementation of the RCEP Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in 2021 offers new opportunities for cooperation in regional economic revitalisation for all participating countries.

On 21 May, the successful completion of China-ASEAN Alliance of Universities for Electronic Information Innovation of CAIH Industry-Academia-Research Centre, Overseas Centre and Guilin University of Electronic Technology Overseas Innovation Centre will provide a cross-cultural exchange service and collaboration platform for the Alliance universities through cross-cultural industry-academia-research exchange, joint training of talents, sharing of scientific research information, and joint incubation of achievements under the normalisation of the epidemic. At the same time, China-ASEAN alliance resources will be gathered to carry out cross-cultural industry-academia-research cooperation in RCEP region.

2021年区域全面经济伙伴关系协定(RCEP)的全面实施，为所有参与国提供了区域经济振兴的合作新机遇。

5月21日，中国-东盟高校电子信息创新联盟CAIH产学研中心、海外中心和桂林电子科技大学海外创新中心顺利建成，将为联盟高校提供跨文化产学研交流、人才联合培养、科研信息共享、疫情常态化下的成果联合孵化等跨文化交流服务和协作平台。同时，聚集中国-东盟联盟资源，在RCEP地区开展跨文化产学研合作。
